Neal McKenzie

Neal Mckenzie is an experienced Assistive Technology Specialist at the Sonoma County Office of Education since July 2013, where responsibilities include assisting students with visual impairments in using specialized technological tools, providing training to educators, and supporting IEP teams. Prior to this role, Neal served as a Special Education Paraprofessional at Santa Rosa City Schools from April 2008 to May 2013, working one-on-one with a highly academic blind student who preferred Braille media, ensuring access to educational materials and translating lessons into Braille. Neal holds a Certificate in Assistive Technology Applications from California State University, Northridge, completed UEB Braille code training at the Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children, and has a certificate in Accessible Computer Programming through Experience Programming in Quorum.
