Milan Agatonovic has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering and development. Milan started their career as a Java Web Developer at Pamet in 2000 and Prodirect in 2001. Milan then worked as a Research Associate - Java Developer at Mihajlo Pupin Institute in 2001-2002 where they developed a web application for SCADA monitoring.
From 2002 to 2006, Milan worked at European Dynamics as a Senior Software Engineer, Architect, and Team Lead. Milan developed MERMIG, a collaborative web application providing various services for clients such as the European Commission and UN institutions.
Milan then joined the University of Sheffield in 2006 as a Senior Software Engineer and Research Associate. Milan led a team and developed Teamware, a web-based management platform for collaborative annotation and curation.
From 2010 to 2013, Milan worked at NICE Systems, now known as Fizzback, where they served as a Product Development Manager and Staff Engineer. Milan played a key role in architecting the first generation of the Fizzback Product Suite, which helps companies analyze customer feedback and derive economic benefits by increasing customer lifetime value.
In 2013, Milan worked on contracts with Kuato Studios and Prezi as a Senior Software Engineer. Milan contributed to the development of the Kuato platform, which merges gaming and learning with next-generation AI. At Prezi, they worked on projects related to recommendation engines and event processing.
Since 2014, Milan has been working at Sonrisa International Inc. as a Lead Software Engineer & Architect. Additional roles during this time include their role as a Father and Husband.
Throughout their career, Milan has worked with various technologies and frameworks such as Java, Kotlin, Spring, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, and Maven. Milan also has experience with deploying applications on microservices and AWS.
Milan Agatonovic obtained their MSc degree in electronics from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Belgrade. Milan attended this institute from 1991 to 1998. Prior to that, from 1987 to 1991, Milan attended Peta Beogradska Gimnazija, where they specialized in mathematics and physics and obtained the degree of "Saradnik u prirodnim naukama" (Associate in Natural Sciences).
