Alex Dixon has a diverse work experience in the gaming industry. Alex started their career as a Junior 3D Graphics Artist at Jagex in 2007, where they worked on overhauling existing assets for the MMO game RuneScape. Alex then joined Juice Games in 2009 as a Core Tech Programmer, where they developed a cross-platform game engine and tools and shipped two games on PS3 and Xbox 360. In 2011, they moved to Hello Games as a Programmer, contributing to the development of a cross-platform game engine and helping bring Joe Danger to Xbox 360. From 2014 to 2015, they worked at Warp Digital Entertainment as a Core Tech Programmer, focusing on developing a cross-platform SDK for multiple platforms. Alex then joined Sports Interactive in 2015 as a Graphics Programmer, where they improved and modernized the C++ graphics engine used in the Football Manager series. In 2018, they joined Flavourworks as a Principal Software Engineer, leading the design and building of a proprietary game engine and development ecosystem for live action interactive FMV games. Alex has worked on multiple titles and platforms, including PS4, iOS, PC, Android, and Switch. Finally, in 2023, they joined Sony Interactive Entertainment as a Principal Software Engineer.
Alex Dixon attended Liverpool John Moores University from 2005 to 2009, where they obtained a First Class Honours degree in Computer Games Technology. Their degree focused on Computer Science and Mathematics.
