Michael Spranger currently holds the position of COO at Sony Research and has served as President and COO of SonyAI since April 2020. Additionally, Michael is a Distinguished Engineer at Sony and has been a Senior Researcher and Senior Program Manager in Machine Intelligence at Sony Computer Science Laboratories Inc. since December 2012. Michael’s previous roles include Senior Research Scientist at Sony and Researcher at both Sony and Sony CSL Paris. With professional freelancing experience from 2000 to 2011 and academic research roles, Michael earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science with a focus on Artificial Intelligence from Vrije Universiteit Brussel and a German Diplom in Computer Science from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
