Cathy has previously worked as the Senior Vice President, Music Publishing at The Walt Disney Company, and as the President of National Board at Association Of Independent Music Publishers (AIMP). Cathy has also worked as the Senior Vice President, Global Head Music Publishing at Twentieth Century Fox.

Cathy Merenda's educational career includes a certificate from Virginia Tech in Music Business and a degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.
