Nilofar Syed

7th Grade Advisor, Social Studies at Sophia Academy

Nilofar Syed is currently a 7th Grade Advisor and Social Studies teacher at the Sophia Academy. Nilofar has worked as an English teacher at the Islamic School of Rhode Island from August 2016 to July 2019. Prior to that, they were an adjunct professor of English at the University of Rhode Island from January 2010 to December 2011 and an English tutor at Bridgeport Public Schools from January 2009 to December 2010. Nilofar Syed began their teaching career as an adjunct professor of English at Southern Connecticut State University from January 2007 to December 2009.

Nilofar Syed received their Master of Arts in English Language and Literature from Southern Connecticut State University. Nilofar then went on to earn their Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature/Letters from Central Connecticut State University, graduating magna cum laude. Syed is currently pursuing their Phd in English at the University of Rhode Island.
