Bastien Bournas

Bastien Bournas is a security professional with extensive experience in cybersecurity and engineering. Currently serving as the Security Lead at SOPHiA GENETICS since December 2021, Bournas oversees the Security team, defines security roadmaps and strategies, coordinates security efforts across various departments, ensures compliance with standards such as ISO27001 and HITRUST, and manages incident response. Prior roles include Senior Security Engineer and Security Engineer at SOPHiA GENETICS, where responsibilities encompassed technical leadership and conducting penetration tests. Previously, Bournas worked at Airbus Defence and Space as a Cyber Security Architect, contributing to cybersecurity architecture design for European space programs, and held positions as Embedded Systems Engineer and Software Development Engineer. Bournas has a solid educational background with degrees in Computer Science and Cybersecurity from institutions including ENSEEIHT and Polytechnique Montréal.
