Federico Sebastiani

Federico Sebastiani has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Federico is currently the Vice President of Sales, Strategy, and Operations at SOPHiA GENETICS since January 2023. Prior to this, they held the role of Senior Director Subject Matter Experts EMEA at the same company.

Before joining SOPHiA GENETICS, Federico co-founded Science4life.it in 2018. Federico has also worked at Hamilton Company, where they held various positions including International Commercial Leader Diagnostics EMEA and China, Business Developer EMEA and China, and Market Segment Leader Diagnostics EMEA and China.

In 2013, Federico worked as a Business Coach and Consultant in the Life Science and Healthcare market. Federico provided support to customers in market analysis and business planning with a focus on Reproductive Health and oncology markets.

Before that, Federico was the Sr Manager of Sales and Support in Italy at Dako from 2011 to 2013. Federico managed the sales and support team and was responsible for sales in Italy.

Federico also has experience working at Life Technologies and Applied Biosystems, where they held various roles such as EMEA Technical Support Strategy Senior Manager, Support Manager South Europe and Latin America, Support Manager South Europe, Support Manager Italy and Iberia, Support Manager Italy, and Field Application Specialist. In these roles, they were responsible for delivering technical support services, managing teams, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Federico Sebastiani completed their Bachelor's degree in Biology with a specialization in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Università degli Studi di Parma. This educational journey started in 1988 and ended in 1993. Later on, they pursued a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cell Biology at Università di Pavia from 1997 to 2000. After a significant gap in formal education, in 2018, they attended SDA Bocconi for a short-term course in Strategic and Operational Marketing.
