Principal Engineer at Sophos

Daniel Teal has a diverse and extensive work experience background. Daniel worked as a Principal Engineer at Sophos from 2015 onwards. Prior to that, they were a Senior Architect at Lumension from November 2012 to June 2015, where they were responsible for integrating CoreTrace technology into Lumension products and conducting research on memory protection capabilities. Before Lumension, they served as CTO and Founder of CoreTrace Corporation from August 2000 to October 2012, where they developed the first commercial application control whitelisting product. Daniel also has experience working at Cisco Systems as a Senior Engineer, where they contributed to enhancing the network security product line. Additionally, they were one of the founders of WheelGroup Corporation and served as the Chief Scientist from November 1995 to March 1998, where they designed and implemented the first commercial network IDS. Prior to that, they worked as a Research Engineer at Trident Data Systems and as an Information Warfare Officer at AFIWC, where they were involved in developing countermeasures for Air Force networks and computer systems. Daniel began their career as a Software Developer at John Deere.

Daniel Teal attended Horicon High School from 1981 to 1985. Daniel then pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1985 to 1989.
