Rafe Pilling

Rafe Pilling is a seasoned cybersecurity professional with extensive experience in threat intelligence and security risk consulting. Currently serving as the Director of Threat Intelligence for the Counter Threat Unit at Sophos since February 2025, following the acquisition of Secureworks, Rafe previously held the same title at Secureworks from March 2013 to February 2025. Rafe's career includes roles such as Principal Researcher and Sr Security Researcher, focusing on cyber threats analysis and incident response. Prior to Secureworks, Rafe worked at Dell Technologies as a Principal Consultant in Security and Risk Consulting and began a career in cybersecurity as a Security Analyst at dns Limited. Rafe holds a PgDip with distinction in Advanced Networking and Web Technologies from Edinburgh Napier University and a BSc with Honours in Computer Science and Management Science from The University of Edinburgh.
