You Nakatsuru is a seasoned cybersecurity professional with extensive experience in threat research and malware analysis. Currently serving as Principal Threat Researcher for the Counter Threat Unit at Sophos Japan since July 2025, Nakatsuru previously held the position of Senior Security Researcher at Secureworks Japan from March 2016 to July 2025, focusing on cyber threat research and red team testing. Prior roles include Artifact Analyst at JPCERT/CC, Principal Researcher at LAC Co., Ltd. and LAC Holdings Inc., and Information Security Analyst at JPCERT/CC. Nakatsuru began a career in cybersecurity in 2006, building expertise in incident response and malware analysis through various roles. Educational background includes an Associate of Arts in Control Engineering from Kurume National College of Technology, obtained in 2006.
