Ivana Butorac has extensive work experience in data protection and government affairs. Ivana is currently working at Sopra Steria as a Data Protection Manager and Team lead EU Regulatory&Compliance. Prior to this, they held the role of Data Protection expert and Team Lead EU - Senior Consultant at the same company. Before joining Sopra Steria, Ivana worked as a Data Protection Consultant at Sopra Steria. Ivana also worked as a Government Affairs Consultant at CGI, where they directly collaborated with European Institutions and EU stakeholders. During their time at CGI, Ivana also served as a GDPR expert/QC support for the European Commission and was responsible for quality assurance tasks and security audit activities. Before CGI, they worked as a Government Affairs Assistant at Cisco and as a Trainee at the European Parliament.
Ivana Butorac has a diverse education history. Ivana obtained an LL.M degree in ICT&IP Law from KU Leuven in 2020. Ivana also holds a Magistar Iuris degree in Law from the University of Rijeka, Faculty of Law, which they completed between 2010 and 2015. Ivana participated in a student exchange program at the Central European University in 2015, focusing on Human Rights in the Department of Legal Studies. Ivana also attended the Jean Monnet Summer School at the Faculty of Law, University of Osijek in Croatia in 2015, where they studied European Law. Additionally, Ivana has received certifications such as the Certified Information Privacy Professional - Europe from the IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals in 2022, and the Jean Monnet Summer School certification from the Faculty of Law, University of Osijek in 2015. Ivana has also participated in the Regional Moot Court Competition in Human Rights organized by Civil Rights Defenders in 2015 and the Moot Court Croatia organized by eSTUDENT in 2014. Ivana's education has equipped their with a strong foundation in law, with a focus on ICT&IP Law, Human Rights, and European Law.
