Joan Pons

Joan Pons is an accomplished Director of Innovation at Sorigué, an industrial conglomerate focused on circular economy and related sectors, since January 2017. In this role, Joan creates and implements the innovation vision and strategy, develops transversal Research and Development projects, and fosters collaborations with leading research institutions to scale and monetize knowledge through innovative business models. Joan's prior experience includes roles as Managing Director at AIDA Centre RFID Solutions, Project Manager at EADS CASA ESPACIO, and participation in the Sloan Fellows Program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, an MBA from IE Business School, and an MS in Remote Sensing of Earth from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
