Irene Mulondu has been working in the geospatial industry since 2015. Irene began their career as a Land Surveyor at Geoland Surveys in 2015, and then moved on to become an Engineering Surveyor at KeRRA in 2017. In 2018, they joined the KALRO-McKnight Program as a GIS Analyst. In 2019, they worked as a Geospatial Engineer at 8teq Solutions LTD and a Geographic Information System Specialist at AVSI Foundation, where they were responsible for collecting, interpreting and analyzing geospatial data and reporting the results back to the relevant members of the NGO, as well as working alongside teams within the NGO to solve problems using GIS. In 2021, they joined Sote as a Software Engineer.
Irene Mulondu obtained a degree in Geomatic Engineering and Geospatial Information Systems from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology in 2019. Irene has also obtained certifications in Continuous Operating Reference Stations (CORS) and Real Time Kinematic (RTK) Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) from Measurement Systems in 2021, Full Stack Web Application Development with Django from Udemy in 2021, Android Development from Google Developers in 2021, How to Implement Multitenancy in Django from Coursera in 2021, and SQL AND PostgreSQL: Become an SQL Expert from Udemy in 2020.
