Rafael Kimberley-Bowen has extensive experience in the technology startup sector. Rafael started their career in 2015 as Co-founder and Chief Data Nerd at Techboard, and also served as a Non Executive Director. In 2018, they founded the Australian Angel Awards, an annual awards program created to recognize the achievement of the Australian angel community and to highlight angel investment as an asset class. From 2018 to 2021, they served as a Director at StartupWA, a not-for-profit, representative organisation which promotes the growing technology startup sector in Western Australia. Rafael also served as a Director at Perth Angels from 2015 to 2021. In 2019, they became an Approved Advisor at Advisory Board Centre and an Advisor at Bunsters. In 2020, they became an Advisor and CFO at Collective Shift, and in 2021 they became Chief Financial Officer, Master of Coin, Company Secretary at icetana and Advisor and CFO at Soter Analytics.

Rafael Kimberley-Bowen has a diverse education history. In 1999-2003, they attended The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and obtained a BSc in Accounting & Finance. In 2004-2007, they obtained a FCMA (Fellowship) from CIMA. In 2010, they obtained a CPA from CPA Australia. In 2011-2013, they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Curtin University. In 2017, they completed the Board Director Program from the Future Directors Institute. In 2018, they obtained a GAICD from the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Rafael is currently pursuing a Certificate in Governance Practice from the Governance Institute of Australia, which they will complete in 2022.
