Monica Rivera Beam

Monica Rivera Beam is an accomplished professional in the life sciences and venture banking sectors, currently serving as Senior Vice President – Strategic Market Director & Co-Lead Science & Technology at Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc. since May 2015. With extensive experience in strategic market development and investment, Monica also holds board observer roles at Soteria Biotherapeutics, TRex Bio, and Immusoft Corporation, among others. Prior to these roles, Monica was a Vice President at Square 1 Bank, managing life science loan portfolios. Monica earned a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Northwestern University, where research focused on protein misfolding diseases, and holds additional degrees in Biomedical Engineering and Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University and Stanford University, respectively.
