Alexander Guillen has had a diverse career since 2011. Alexander began their career as a Cashier at Sam's Club in 2011. In 2013, they became a Shift Manager at Taco Bell, followed by an Office Clerical Support Assistant at Hudson County Community College in 2014. In 2016, they worked as a Radiation Technician at Curie Environmental Services. From 2019 to 2020, they were a Research Assistant at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, where they worked on a NJDEP proposal for Lithium ion batteries recycling, developed a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) framework of existing and emerging membrane technology for the recovery of cathode materials from spent LIBs, verified compliance of the study with ISO 14040 and 14044 standards, and performed finite element method (FEM) simulations of different electrolytic cell models to optimize the production of thin metal films for various applications. Currently, they work as an Engineer and Research and Development Engineer at Soterix Medical, where they perform image-based computer MRI simulation models for clinical trials and medical device validation using Simpleware ScanIP and COMSOL Multiphysics (and other FEA software), and designs devices using CAD software.

Alexander Guillen has a diverse educational background. Alexander completed an Associate of Arts degree in Psychology from Hudson County Community College in 2015. Alexander then went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of New Mexico School of Engineering in 2020. Afterwards, they pursued a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, which they completed in 2022. Alexander is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science from the same institution.
