Alvaro Cardenas

Alvaro Cardenas is an accomplished executive in global real estate development with extensive experience at leading firms. Currently serving as SVP Global Development at Sotheby's International Realty since January 2024, Alvaro Cardenas leads initiatives that have expanded the brand's franchise program to over 84 countries and manages the Sotheby's International Realty Development Advisors team. Previously, Alvaro Cardenas held the same title at Anywhere Real Estate Inc. from February 2018 to December 2023, overseeing a portfolio that includes multiple brands across 120 countries and approximately 100,000 agents. Alvaro Cardenas's career began with Sotheby's International Realty Affiliates LLC, where the focus was on international growth, successfully broadening operations to over 75 countries. Additional experience includes roles in family-owned companies engaged in real estate and finance, fostering franchise operations in Latin America, and serving as a non-executive partner in an investment bank. Alvaro Cardenas holds a degree from The American University of Paris and completed high school at TASIS-Switzerland.
