Cynthia Volk

Cynthia Volk is a seasoned art professional with extensive experience in Asian art, particularly in Chinese ceramics and sculpture. Currently serving as a Senior Consultant and Assistant Vice President at Sotheby's since July 2011, Cynthia has previously held positions as a Fine Arts Consultant and Owner of Cynthia Volk LLC, which focused on early Chinese ceramics and sculpture. Prior roles include Gallery Director at Berwald Oriental Art and The Chinese Porcelain Company, where responsibilities encompassed day-to-day management and client development. Educational achievements include a Master’s degree in Decorative Arts, Design History, and Material Culture from Bard Graduate Center, alongside specialized training in Personal Property and Fine Art Appraisal from Pratt Institute, and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Smith College.
