David J. Surette

David J. Surette has a diverse work experience in the renewable energy and hospitality industries. David J. has worked as the Corporate Controller for Sotherly Hotels Inc. since 2013, overseeing a portfolio of twelve hotels. Prior to that, they served as the CEO and CFO for Solar Park Initiatives, Inc., a utility-scale solar park developer. David J. also held the position of CEO at Alamo Solar Manufacturing Corporation and Maple Leaf Renewables Group, Inc., where they developed and integrated solar and wind energy projects. Additionally, Surette had roles as a Member and Friend at Ignite Solar, and as the Co-Founder, CEO, and CFO at Solar Power Technologies Inc. David J. started their career as the President and CFO of Solar Energy Initiatives, Inc., and as a CFO for VCFO.

David J. Surette earned an MBA in Finance & Entrepreneurial Studies from Babson F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business from 1985 to 1987. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting & Finance from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth between 1977 and 1981. In addition to their degrees, they also hold the certification of Certified Public Accountant, obtained in January 1991 from the VBOA - Virginia Board of Accountancy.
