Willem-Jan S. has extensive work experience in a variety of industries. In 2021, they became the Managing Partner of Return. From 2019 to 2021 they were the Co-founder of Soto Solar and Co-founder of Sunrock Investments from 2012 to 2019. Willem-Jan was also the Board Member of ZeroPoint USA from 2009 to 2012 and Investor and Co-founder of ADGOJI from 2012 to 2019. From 2009 to 2012, they were the Non Executive Board Member of Cautha S.r.l. and from 2000 to 2004 they were the Co-founder of BackStream, delivering content management and cell broadcast solutions for mobile operators and governments. From 2005 to 2006, they were the International Business Development Director Interactive at Endemol International and from 2004 to 2005 they were the Corporate Development Manager Netherlands at Giga Information Group. Their experience dates back to 1998 when they founded Plastcisplatform.com, later sold to McGraw-hill.

Willem-Jan S. has a degree in Economics, which they attained by studying at multiple schools from 1985 to 1997. Willem-Jan also attended Nieuwe Baarnsche School.
