Maya Veltmaat

Maya Veltmaat has extensive experience in education and animal care. Currently serving as a docent for biology, animal care, and VAP at SOTOG since August 2017, Maya also works as a group instructor. Prior to this role, Maya worked at Stichting Carmelcollege from August 2009 to August 2017, teaching biology at the VMBO level, BINAS, and mentoring first-year students in the Kader/Theoretische learning paths. Additionally, Maya was the owner of Advivet from January 2015 to July 2017, providing advice to veterinarians and para-veterinary professionals on various topics within the veterinary practice and the companion animal sector. Maya holds a Bachelor of Education degree in Education and Knowledge Management for the green sector, recreation, and companion animals from Aeres University of Applied Sciences Wageningen and has further education in paraveterinary studies and management of animal care from Landstede MBO.
