Dan Sowder

Dan Sowder, P.E., is dedicated to advancing the transition to a cleaner electric grid, driven by a desire to create a better world for their two children. With experience in the U.S. Navy as a Submarine Special Operations Officer and a Division Officer, Dan has honed leadership skills in high-stakes environments. In the energy sector, they have held significant roles at companies such as Duke Energy and Doosan GridTech, focusing on power system engineering and integrating distributed energy resources. As Principal and Co-Founder of Sound Grid Partners, Dan currently leads initiatives to assist electric utilities in embracing innovative energy solutions. Dan earned an MBA in Sustainability and Corporate Finance from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, alongside degrees in Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Management.
