Mental Health Clinician at Sound

Kate DeForest is a Mental Health Clinician at Sound Mental Health since August 2016 and has previously served as a Clinical Intern. Prior experience includes a role as a Youth Services Case Manager at Neighborhood Ministries, where Kate coached youth in job readiness, career exploration, and provided individual client advocacy. Kate has developed and implemented youth training in job-readiness skills and maintained high-quality case management while fostering strong client relationships through effective communication and empathy. Additionally, Kate worked as a Youth Advocate & Mentor Coordinator, where responsibilities included recruiting adult mentors for inner-city youth, conducting assessments, and organizing community engagement events. Kate holds a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Florida.
