VP Products & Programs, Petro Division at Sound Payments

Raymond Prothero is new to the Sound Payments team and is Vice President of the Petroleum Division in both Product and Program execution. Prothero leads his team in building best-in-class designing, building, and delivery of Sound Payments Petro solutions.

Prothero is a firm believer in building for quality, scalability, and efficiency. In his past roles, Prothero has served both in the field as a Program/Project consulting manager, solutions architect, and solutions engineer. His customers ranged from small-scale single-site integrations to full-enterprise rollouts of varying innovative technical solutions for the Petro market.

In his 22 years of industry service, Prothero has achieved certifications in industry-wide technology-based solutions including Microsoft’s suite of applications and development tools as well as organizational focuses like Project & Program Management and Pragmatic Marketing. Prothero loves to read about new technologies and operational processes that solve the challenges that come with implementing technology.

During his time in the industry Prothero was part of the team of consultants that developed and rolled out the first enterprise managed Food Service and Customer Self Service Kiosk solutions; returning a high ROI for investment as well as building profitability through white label branding, integrating automatic upselling, quick order delivery and accuracy. Prothero also lead a large multiorganizational team of technologists, security and operations experts to stand up one of the first PCI Certified Support solutions in the POS space.

Prothero is active in his community through involvement with the City of Dunedin Pipe Band, supports Dunedin Scottish Arts Foundation, as well as supports his son in the Boy Scouts of America. He resides in Clearwater Fl with his wife and two children, loves to fish, tinker around with his car, or get involved in any activity that involves thinking and working with his hands.
