Cassie Schmitt

Cassie Schmitt is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in data governance, records management, and workplace consulting. Currently serving as Senior Program Manager for Data Governance at Sound Transit since October 2018, Cassie has been instrumental in creating and implementing a data governance program, data stewardship model, and various policies and best practices. As Co-Founder of Functioning Workplace Consulting, Cassie focuses on improving workplace dynamics through coaching and systemic changes. Previous roles include Program Manager at Orbis Cascade Alliance, where Cassie coordinated shared services for member libraries, and Head of Access at the University of Maryland, managing projects to enhance access to special collections. Cassie's educational background includes a Master of Science in Information with a focus on Archives and Records Management from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Arts in History/Philosophy, Politics, and Law from Binghamton University.
