Wan-Thai Hsu

Chief Technology Officer at Soundskrit

Wan-Thai Hsu has extensive work experience in the field of technology and semiconductors. Wan-Thai is currently serving as the Chairman of the Board at Stathera, Inc. since January 2021. Prior to this, they worked as the Chief Technology Officer at Soundskrit from January 2020 onwards.

From 2018 to 2020, Hsu held the position of President at Siliconquartz LLC, a consulting firm specializing in sensors, electronic devices, MEMS, and timing devices. In this role, they performed technical due diligence, collaborated with research organizations for advanced projects, advised startup companies, and guided companies in transforming research results into high-volume production.

Before joining Siliconquartz LLC, Hsu worked at TXC Corporation from August 2015 to December 2017, where they held the role of CTO and VP R&D. In this position, they managed and guided the development of multiple product lines, expanded the product portfolio, and led the Internal Industrial 4.0 Program.

Prior to their time at TXC Corporation, Hsu served as the CTO of MEMS Technology at Micrel from September 2013 to July 2015. Wan-Thai continued product development when Discera was acquired by Micrel in September 2013. Before that, Hsu worked at Discera Inc as the Chief Technology Officer from October 2001 to August 2013. Their academic achievements during their time as a research assistant at the University of Michigan led to the establishment of Discera Inc.

Hsu began their career as a research assistant at National Tsing Hua University from June 1994 to July 1995. During their time at the University of Michigan, from May 1996 to September 2001, they worked as a research assistant and published 11 papers before receiving their Ph.D. degree.

Wan-Thai Hsu obtained a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from National Tsing Hua University in 1990. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the same university, which they completed in 1992. Wan-Thai then enrolled at the University of Michigan, where they earned a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in 2001. Later, in 2008, they returned to the University of Michigan and attended the Stephen M. Ross School of Business to pursue an Executive MBA, which they completed in 2010.
