Michael Sonnekus

Michael Sonnekus is an experienced professional in the field of cybersecurity and forensic investigation, currently serving as a Senior Team Leader at the South African Reserve Bank since October 2018. Prior roles include Lead Cyber Security Analyst at Standard Bank Group and Cyber Forensic Investigator at both Absa Group and First National Bank of South Africa. Michael began a career in forensics and auditing with Ellerine Holdings. Academic qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Rhodes University, a Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Forensics from the University of Cape Town, a Bachelor of Technology in Forensic Investigation, and a Bachelor of Commerce in Informatics from the University of South Africa.
