Priya Gopal

Priya Gopal is an experienced Operational Risk Analyst at the South African Reserve Bank since July 2022, overseeing risk management in the insurance sector comprising over 100 insurers. Previously, Priya held various roles at Standard Bank Group from February 2014 to July 2022, including 1st Line Risk Manager and Insurance Risk Manager, where expertise was developed in managing high net-worth client banking and investment needs. In addition, Priya worked as a Risk Graduate specializing in Business Banking Credit, gaining valuable insights into bank operations and credit decision-making for small enterprises. Priya also served as a tutor at the University of the Witwatersrand, where skills in simplifying complex concepts were honed, along with management of student expectations and grading responsibilities. Priya earned a Bachelor of Commerce in Management & Insurance and Risk Management from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2014.
