Sarah McPhail is currently the Lead Policy Analyst for Sustainable Finance at the South African Reserve Bank, specializing in climate and environmental risks, and leading the integration of climate-related risk management into banking and insurance regulation. Prior to this role, Sarah served as Director of Financial Sector Policy at the National Treasury of South Africa, focusing on sustainable finance initiatives and climate change response. Sarah's extensive experience includes positions as Director in various departments related to urban development, infrastructure, and water sector policy, as well as a consultant at PDG. Educational qualifications include a Master's in Public & Development Management from the University of the Witwatersrand, a B Bus Sci with Finance Honours from the University of Cape Town, and various certificates in sustainability and fiscal management from the USB Sustainability Institute, IMF Academy, and the University of Cambridge.
