Chief Of Recovery And Mitigation, Scemd at South Carolina Emergency Management Division

Emily Bentley has a diverse work experience in the field of emergency management and disaster preparedness. Emily began their career as the Executive Director of the Emergency Management Accreditation Program (EMAP) from August 2000 to May 2006. Emily then joined Savannah State University as an Associate Professor from 2007 to 2015. During this time, they also worked as a Consultant for Blue Sky Preparedness, LLC, and Witt O'Brien's, LLC from 2008 to January 2019. From June 2015 to January 2019, they served as the Program Director and Senior Lecturer for Disaster and Emergency Management at Columbia College in South Carolina. Currently, Emily is appointed as the Chief of Recovery and Mitigation at the South Carolina Emergency Management Division since January 2019.

Emily Bentley attended Faulkner University Jones School of Law from 1993 to 1996, where they obtained a juris doctorate degree in law. Prior to that, they studied at Auburn University from 1982 to 1986 and earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Journalism.
