Megan Wood currently serves as the Mass Care and COOP Program Manager and the Dam Safety and Flood Response Program Manager at the South Carolina Emergency Management Division, where responsibilities include developing the South Carolina Flood Response Plan and the Dam Safety Plan for federally regulated dams. Previous experience includes being a Hazard Mitigation Planner, where Megan collaborated with government agencies to enhance the State Hazard Mitigation Plan, and a Graduate Research Assistant at the Hazards and Vulnerability Research Institute, focusing on hazard mitigation and spatial analysis. Earlier roles included providing emergency assistance with the American Red Cross and organizing renewable energy initiatives as an intern with the National Park Service. Megan holds a Master’s Degree in Geography from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Maryland Baltimore County.
