Emily Poole

Emily Poole is a staff attorney at the South Carolina Environmental Law Project, where work began in June 2023. Previously, Emily held various editorial positions at the Tennessee Journal of Leadership, Law, and Policy from July 2020 to December 2022, including web editor, executive editor, and staff editor. As conference director for the Appalachian Public Interest and Environmental Law (APIEL) Conference from June 2021 to December 2022, Emily coordinated significant events in environmental law. Legal experience includes roles as a law clerk at the Appalachian Citizens’ Law Center, the Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands, and internships with the National Parks Conservation Association and the Tennessee Court of Appeals. Academic qualifications include a JD and an MPPA from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, as well as a BA in Law and Public Policy & Sociology from Mercer University.
