Robert McCaffrey has a diverse work experience, starting from 1982 as a Security Police Officer in the United States Air Force. Robert then worked as a Groups Sales Manager for the Gwinnett Gladiators from 2003 to 2010. Following that, they were a Senior Account Executive at CT Whale from 2010 to 2011. From 2011 to 2012, they worked as a Groups Sales Account Executive for the Manchester Monarchs. Most recently, they served as the Director of Ticket Sales for the South Carolina Stingrays starting in 2012.

The South Carolina Stingrays are a professional ECHL ice hockey team based in North Charleston, South Carolina and are the affiliate of the NHL's Washington Capitals and American Hockey League's (AHL) Hershey Bears. The Stingrays are in the South Division of the ECHL's Eastern Conference and play home games at the North Charleston Coliseum.
