South Central Community Action Program is a nonprofit organization based in Bloomington, Indiana that has served low-income people for more than 55 years. Our mission is to provide opportunities for low-income individuals and families to achieve personal and economic independence. We serve more than 4,000 families annually, representing more than 9,000 individuals in Brown, Monroe, Morgan, and Owen counties. SCCAP administers the Energy Assistance Program, Housing Choice Opportunities, and Weatherization in all four counties, while providing Head Start & Early Head Start, Growing Opportunities, and Thriving Connections in Monroe County. The Program Management Team at the South Central Community Action Program oversees the effective implementation and administration of various social service programs aimed at assisting low-income individuals and families. This team ensures the smooth operation and coordination of the Energy Assistance Program, Housing Choice Opportunities, Weatherization, Head Start & Early Head Start, Growing Opportunities, Thriving Connections, and Covering Kids & Families initiatives. They work collaboratively to develop strategies, manage resources, and monitor outcomes to fulfill the organization’s mission of fostering personal and economic independence among the communities they serve.
