Catherine So is the Chief Executive Officer of the South China Morning Post, a global news media company that has reported on China and Asia for over a century. She is a business leader with over 20 years of experience in the tech, digital and media sectors across Greater China, Asia Pacific, and the United States.

Catherine has a proven track record in transforming businesses and delivering performance with expertise in P&L management, people leadership, strategy development, and sales & operations.

Prior to joining the Post, she was Expedia Group’s Managing Director of Asia Pacific, leading its business through years of rapid growth and marketplace transformation, while overseeing its consumer business covering major brands including Expedia, Hotels.com, Vrbo, Stayz and Bookabach. Previously, Catherine was Managing Director of Groupon Hong Kong, and also held leadership positions at the iProperty Group (now REA Group), Tom Group, News Corporation and AOL Time Warner.

Born in Hong Kong, Catherine speaks English, Cantonese and Mandarin. She is an Economics honours graduate from Harvard University.
