Hoi Ying Lo

Hoi Ying Lo is an experienced journalist currently serving as a City Desk Reporter at the South China Morning Post since December 2021, specializing in daily news coverage in Hong Kong, particularly pandemic-related topics. Previous roles include a Graduate Trainee and Freelance Reporter at SCMP, as well as an Editorial Intern and Producer for Chinese News at Mediacorp Pte Ltd, where contributions involved writing news stories in Mandarin and creating TV news clips. Additional experience includes podcast production at Our Grandfather Story, editorial internships at Sixth Tone and Bandwagon Media, and a role as Chinese Editor at The Nanyang Chronicle. Hoi Ying holds a Master's degree in Journalism from The University of Hong Kong and a Bachelor of Communication Studies (Honours) from Nanyang Technological University Singapore, along with additional studies at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Columbia College Chicago.
