Kevin Nelson

Kevin Nelson has extensive experience in educational leadership and consulting, currently serving as an Educational Consultant for South Dakota Public Broadcasting since October 2019. Prior to this role, Kevin worked as an Elementary Principal at Beresford Public School from 1997 to June 2019, overseeing preschool through 5th grade and coaching high school cross country. Kevin also held the position of Elementary Principal at Chester Area School District from 1992 to 1997 and began a career in education as an elementary and middle school teacher at Warner Public School between 1982 and 1992, where coaching duties included basketball, cross-country, and track and field across various levels. Kevin holds an Educational Specialist degree in Elementary and Middle School Administration/Principalship from the University of South Dakota, as well as a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Elementary and Middle School Administration/Principalship and Elementary Education from Northern State University.
