Andrea Carlile is an experienced academic and communication professional with a strong background in speech education and forensics. As the Course Director for Fundamentals of Speech at South Dakota State University since August 2012, Andrea oversees a foundational course for approximately 1,200 undergraduate students each semester. In addition to this role, Andrea serves as the Director of Forensics and Lecturer of Speech Communication, teaching various courses including Business and Professional Communication and Public Speaking. Andrea's previous positions include Board Member for Brookings Area Habitat for Humanity, Speakers Bureau Coordinator for TASC, and Press Intern for U.S. Senator Evan Bayh. With degrees in Political Science from Gustavus Adolphus College, Communication Studies from South Dakota State University, and a Doctor of Education in Adult and Higher Education from the University of South Dakota School of Education, Andrea possesses a comprehensive educational background to support expertise in communication and education.
