Daniel Scholl is currently serving as the Vice President of Research and Economic Development at South Dakota State University. Prior to this role, Daniel worked as the Interim Dean of the College of Agriculture and Biological Sciences at the same university. With a background in veterinary science and epidemiology, Daniel has extensive experience in research and academic leadership, having previously held positions such as Director and Associate Dean for Research at the South Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station and Professeur at Université de Montréal. Daniel's career has also included roles as Directeur scientific at RCRMB and Assistant/Associate Professor at LSU SVM.

Founded in 1881, South Dakota State University is the state's Morrill Act land-grant institution as well as its largest, most comprehensive school of higher education. SDSU confers degrees from eight different colleges representing more than 175 majors, minors and specializations. The institution also offers 29 master's degree programs, 12 Ph.D. and two professional programs.The work of the university is carried out on a residential campus in Brookings, at sites in Sioux Falls, Pierre and Rapid City, and through Extension offices and Agricultural Experiment Station research sites across the state.
