Joey J. Barnes

Joey J. Barnes is an accomplished tennis coach and executive with extensive experience in both collegiate and organizational leadership. Currently serving as the Executive Director at Tennis Quest LLC since August 2020, Barnes also holds the position of Head Coach for the Men's and Women's Tennis Programs at South Dakota State University, a role maintained since July 2016. Previous coaching positions include Head Coach at Seattle University and the South Dakota State University Alumni Association, as well as Head Coach roles at Upper Iowa University and Florida Gulf Coast University. Barnes has a foundational background in tennis coaching, with volunteer coaching experience at the University of Maryland, alongside a military career as an Officer in the US Navy. An alumnus of the University of Maryland with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Information Systems Management, Barnes combines athletic expertise with a strong educational background.
