We have more than 300 employees working to ensure South Derbyshire continues to change for the better. 

Services for the District are divided between Derbyshire County Council and ourselves. Through the values in our Council Plan, we aim to provide them as efficiently and effectively as possible.

Our Leadership Team (LT), made up of paid officers, works closely with elected Councillors to deliver our vision and values.

The Planning and Environmental Services team at South Derbyshire DC is responsible for overseeing the development and conservation efforts within the district. They manage planning applications, ensure sustainable development, oversee green spaces and biodiversity, and handle community engagement and cultural services. The team works to balance growth and environmental stewardship to continually improve the quality of life in South Derbyshire.
