Steve Laking

Steve Laking is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in environmental management, education, and non-profit sectors. Currently serving as Chair of the Board of Trustees for South East Rivers Trust, Steve is dedicated to restoring river health in south-east England. As a co-founder and COO of Sophie’s Trust, Steve oversees operational management and financial allocation for a charitable initiative supporting children’s education at the Home of Peace orphanage in Kuala Lumpur. Previous roles include teaching geography at Teach SouthEast and holding various senior positions at Ramboll Environment and Health and ERM, where Steve drove growth strategies and operational excellence across global markets. Steve holds a Master's degree in Hydrogeology, a PGCE in pedagogy, and a BSc in Environmental Sciences.
