South Florida Ballet opened its doors in 1997 as a dance school accessible for all who wished to pursue ballet professionally and for enthusiasts who appreciated the art form. The school's unique curriculum emphasizes a foundation in classical ballet, with exposure to elements of the Cecchetti method, the Royal Academy of Dance method, the Vaganova method, and the Balanchine method, as well as modern, contemporary, and folkloric styles of dance, providing students with a range of styles and techniques necessary for the demanding versatility of the dance world. The school offers instruction from professional dancers, many of whom have danced with world leading ballet companies. South Florida Ballet students have won numerous dance awards and scholarships. The school's facility is over 5,000 square feet with specifically designed sprung floors, providing one of the most professional spaces for dance training in South Florida.
