South Fork Design Build is an architecture-led design and construction firm based in Boone, North Carolina, guiding custom home projects from site evaluation through construction under one coordinated team.

Our work focuses on custom homes shaped by the Appalachian landscape and the realities of mountain construction. Every project begins with understanding the land itself: slope, light, access, drainage, views, and long-term durability.

We believe thoughtful homes emerge from careful listening, strong collaboration, and respect for both the client and the site. Whether a project is a primary residence, second home, or long-term family retreat, our goal is to create spaces that feel connected to the people living there and to the surrounding landscape.

South Fork Design Build offers:
• Custom residential architecture
• Design-build project delivery
• Site analysis and feasibility studies
• Construction management
• Mountain and second-home construction
• Interior architecture and detailing
• Preconstruction planning and project coordination

The firm is led by Jeff Mance, a licensed architect and general contractor with more than 20 years of experience across residential, institutional, civic, and commercial projects. His background in both architecture and construction informs South Fork’s integrated approach and emphasis on thoughtful, well-executed homes.

We work with clients nationwide on projects throughout Western North Carolina, including Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, Linville, and surrounding High Country communities.
