Alan Wong

Chief Medical Officer & SVP for Medical Affairs at South Nassau Communities Hospital Inc

Dr. Wong joins us from Catholic Health, where he served in multiple leadership roles at Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Centre, NY, including Vice President for Patient Safety and Chief Quality Officer, Chair of Internal Medicine and Chief of Pulmonary and Critical Care. During his time at there, he was responsible for patient quality and safety issues, risk management, and hospital accreditation. Dr. Wong also co-chaired the performance improvement committee and the patient experience committee, as well as many other clinical and quality initiatives. As Chief Medical Officer, he is responsible for the administration of, and liaison with, all medical staff throughout the hospital, employed and attending.

A long-time Nassau County resident, Dr. Wong attended medical school at New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he obtained both his MBA and DO degrees, and then completed his internal medicine residency and Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship at the then-Winthrop-University Hospital.
