Matthew Runyan

Mr. Runyan is a technology veteran bringing to Mount Sinai South Nassau over 30 years of experience within several industries, including 20 + in healthcare, overseeing information technology operations, infrastructure, telecom and service management. Mr. Runyan is responsible for all aspects of the organization’s technology, focusing on its platforms, operational effectiveness and long-term strategy using Internet of Things (IoT) to enhance innovations with leading-edge industry applications.

A U.S. Army veteran who served in the Persian Gulf during Desert Shield/Desert Storm, he recently worked as vice president and chief information officer of information services at Springpoint Senior Living, New Jersey. His healthcare experience includes medical software company Allscripts, where he served as the vice president of hosting operations. He also supported the Epic EMR at Brookdale and successfully ran their double upgrade and disaster recovery planning. His background managing large-scale systems and operations has helped several organizations grow and achieve advancements in technology, including projects to increase stability and improve performance while reducing cost and risk.
