Jason Bing Schetelick currently serves as the District Superintendent for the South Orange & Maplewood School District, a position held since June 2024. Previously, Jason held the role of District Superintendent of Schools at Dutchess County, New York BOCES from September 2021 to June 2024, and served as Chief Academic Officer/Executive Director for Jersey City Public Schools from August 2013 to August 2021. Jason's educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Pre-Law Studies from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, multiple Master’s degrees in Instruction and Curriculum and Education Leadership from Kean University, a Master Teacher Institute credential in Holocaust Education from Rutgers University, as well as a Sister Rose Thering Fellowship in Holocaust and Genocide Studies from Seton Hall University. Jason has also engaged in programs at the Aspen Institute of Workforce Development and Rowan University related to the Social Norms Project.
