Jonathan Newth is an experienced Firefighter Paramedic with South Snohomish County Fire & Rescue since February 2019. Prior to this role, Jonathan held positions as a Graduate UX Designer at Dell EMC and Seattle Coffee Works, as well as a UX Designer at Bioprober Corporation, where expertise in user experience design and research was demonstrated. Jonathan began a career in emergency medical services as an Emergency Medical Technician at American Medical Response and as an Ambulance Operator with Glendale Fire Department. Academic credentials include a Master's degree in Human Centered Design and Engineering from the University of Washington and a Bachelor's degree in Cognitive Psychology from California State University, Northridge. Additional educational achievements include an Associate of Science in Paramedic Studies and an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts.

South Snohomish County Fire & Rescue is a Regional Fire Authority (RFA) that staffs 14 stations 24/7, serving more than 250,000 residents in unincorporated Southwest Snohomish County and the Cities of Lynnwood, Brier, Edmonds, and Mountlake Terrace; responding annually to more than 35,000 fire and emergency medical calls. All firefighters are certified as either emergency medical technicians or paramedics. Firefighters specializing in hazardous material response and technical rescue are on duty daily. South Snohomish County Fire & Rescue also has staff members assigned full time to community relations, fire prevention and public education.
