Angus Phelps

Angus Phelps is a seasoned mining engineering professional with extensive experience in production planning and mine design, currently serving as Superintendent Production Planning at South32 since May 2016. Previous roles include positions as Superintendent Dozers & Ancillary Operations (Acting) and Senior Mine Design Engineer at South32, along with a tenure as Senior Mining Engineer at Millennium Minerals Limited. From February 2011 to May 2014, Angus contributed as a Mining Engineer at AMC Consultants, specializing in open-pit mine planning and feasibility studies for diverse clients. Earlier in the career, significant experience was gained at Rio Tinto as a Mine Planning Engineer, Mine Scheduling Engineer, and Graduate Mining Engineer, where tasks involved operational planning, implementation of dynamic scheduling tools, and hands-on production engineering roles. Angus holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining from UNSW, awarded in 2006.
